He studied under Sumiko Minemura and Kiyohiko Kijima in the composition course of the Department of Music, Nihon University College of Art.
He has been active in the punk new wave band 8 1/2, Guernica since he was in school. Since then, he has worked on his own band activities, concert works, electronica,
TV commercials, film scores, and more. 44th Mainichi Film Awards Music Award (Movie "Untamagiru"), 32nd Prague International Television Festival Czech Crystal Award (Music for NHK "Genso"), 33rd and 36th Japan Academy Prize Excellent Music Awards (Movies "Zero's Focus" and "Nobo Castle").
He is a part-time lecturer at Nihon University College of Art, Department of Film.
