Yasunoshin Morita studied composition with Yori-Aki Matsudaira and Frédéric Durieux.
He won the first prize at JSCM Award for Composers in 2002. He also won the highest prize at the Valentino Bucchi International Composition Competition in Italy in 2009, and the
Excellence Award in the Composition Prize for Orchestra of Japan 2003.
He was selected as an invited composer to the ISCM Word New Music Day in Vancouver in 2017. He has given lectures on Japanese traditional music, including Gagaku, at the Conservatoire
Supérieure de Musique de Paris.
